Effective communication can save lives during emergencies.

The National Commission on Disabilities has developed a Sign Language Emergency Communication Guide to assist deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals in accessing emergency services.

The guide includes signs and visual instructions related to medical emergencies, fire incidents, police assistance, natural disasters, and evacuation procedures.

Emergency responders, healthcare professionals, and community leaders are encouraged to familiarize themselves with these communication tools to better serve all citizens.
