To generate reliable, disability-disaggregated data that supports evidence-based policymaking and inclusive national planning.
About this program
Persons with disabilities are routinely under-counted in national statistics, and what is not counted is not planned for. Through nationwide assessment and acquaintance tours, registration exercises and partnerships on research and surveys, the Commission builds a clearer picture of who persons with disabilities are, where they live, and what they need.
The resulting data is disaggregated by county, disability type, age and gender so that ministries, partners and the Commission itself can direct services where they are needed most.
In furtherance of its statutory mandate, the Commission works closely with Organizations of Persons with Disabilities (OPWDs), community-based disability groups, and development partners to strengthen institutional capacities, improve service delivery, and advocate for equitable and inclusive opportunities for meaningful participation of persons with disabilities in national development processes.
