Skills Development for Persons with Disabilities
Practical, marketable skills and the leadership capacity to put them to work.
Objective
To support the general welfare of persons with disabilities through empowerment programs, capacity building, livelihood skills training, educational support, medical assistance, rehabilitation and access to social services.
About this program
This program delivers vocational and skills training for persons with disabilities, alongside training workshops for the leaders of Organizations of Persons with Disabilities, county coordinators and disability advocates.
Capacity building covers advocacy, leadership, communication and organizational management, strengthening the institutions that represent persons with disabilities in every county.
In furtherance of its statutory mandate, the Commission works closely with Organizations of Persons with Disabilities (OPWDs), community-based disability groups, and development partners to strengthen institutional capacities, improve service delivery, and advocate for equitable and inclusive opportunities for meaningful participation of persons with disabilities in national development processes.
